FATHERS IMPART DESTINY
18 years ago the Family Foundation Fund established it’s annual 5K Run/ Walk for Fatherhood to raise awareness for the need of fathers in the lives of at-risk youth in Middle Tennessee.
Fatherless youth represent 71% of High School dropouts, 70% of Juvenile Delinquents, 63% of Youth suicides, and the statistics go on and on.
The inaugural race was held at Crockett Park in Brentwood, TN, and eventually moved to Shelby Bottoms Park in East Nashville which served as the host site for many years. In 2013 The Fontanel became the host site for the annual run and remains the host site til this day.”The 5k at Fontanel” was formerly a part of ‘The Fatherhood Games” field day event.
“The Fontanel 5k has been the best race I have ran in any of the last 14 states I ran so far. The race director along with the crew were the most friendlier and happy people I’ve met so far in a race. The course was awesome running on trails and of course cherry on top winning 1st place in my group and making our Uber driver a happy father’s day by giving him my $50 gift certificate to one of your local restaurants, I got for winning… what an unforgettable day!”
“Our grandkids love to run the 5k Trail Race each year and we were delighted when our 7 year old won 1st place in her age group. She loved receiving her award and showed it to all her friends.”
